As an Indigenous owned non-profit and seed library one of our biggest goals is to teach stewardship and fortify the importance of food sovereignty for every community. We also aim to ensure indigenous communities have access to the resources and food sources needed to maintain our communities and traditional medicines of our lands and people.

Seed Banking
What is Seed Banking?
Seed Banking is when a person, people, group or organization collects & stores seeds to preserve biodiversity, create food sovereignty, promote food accessibility & ensure food security for future generations.
Seed banks help solve food shortages and malnutrition, and boost food system resilience to climate and cultural challenges.
Why is seed banking important?
Food Security
Did you know that an estimated 40% of GLOBAL plant species are vulnerable to extinction?
Seed banking also helps to preserve indigenous food sources, flora and trees that are culturally important to native communities across the globe
Why did we choose to create a seed bank?
We believe in Planting for the Future
What started off as a goal to build a seed bank that would preserve our indigenous medicinal plants, traditional foods and native flora throughout the Caribbean to ensure that the descendants of our people have access to the knowledge and traditions of our ancestors lead us to understanding how important it is to also steward for the local communities that we co-exist with today as well
Our aim to service our local communities with the knowledge and resources needed to gain food independence, learn about food sovereignty, and encourage taking steps towards becoming leaders in building a more equitable future for themselves and those around them through education, service and stewardship.
